Tilia cordata - small-leaved lime by Judith Hillelson
Tilia cordata, or Littleleaf Linden, is a deciduous tree native to Europe. Traditionally, the flowers of the Littleleaf Linden have been used to make herbal teas known for their calming and sedative effects. Linden flower tea is often used to alleviate anxiety, insomnia, and digestive discomfort, and is valued for its mild diuretic and anti-inflammatory properties. In folklore, the Linden tree has been revered as a sacred tree, symbolising balance and connection, with its heart-shaped leaves thought to embody love and fertility.
