Callistemon phoeniceus - Scarlet Bottlebrush by Sally Crosthwaite
Callistemon phoeniceus, or the Red Bottlebrush, is native to Australia, prized for its vibrant red flowers that resemble a bottlebrush. In traditional medicine, various parts of the plant have been used for their healing properties. The leaves and flowers are believed to have antimicro-bial and anti-inflammatory effects, with the leaves often brewed into teas to treat respiratory issues and coughs. In Aboriginal folklore, the plant is sometimes linked to the regeneration of the land, with its bright flowers symbolising renewal and vitality.
